Have you been struggling with not feeling like yourself, feeling down or anxious, or have you noticed that you just aren't where you want to be in life? Maybe you are experiencing a change or transition in your life that you are needing guidance and support with. Or you have experienced a recent loss. Have you been having issues at work or within your relationships? Maybe you are looking to learn more about yourself and are seeking personal growth. As your therapist, I am here to help you identify what is getting in the way, and support you in creating the life you want. I help women experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, college stress, and grief and loss in individual therapy. I am a firm believer that we all have the answers to our problems (although they may be buried deep!), and therapy can help us uncover those answers. Together we will work collaboratively to identify and utilize the strengths you possess to reach your therapy goals.
Are you a teen seeking support? Or are you a parent concerned by your teens behavior or mood? Maybe you've noticed your teen isolate, appear stressed, face challenges managing school demands, acting tearful, anxious, having panic attacks, or your teen just doesn't seem interested in things they used to enjoy. Have you noticed changes in your relationship with your teen including increased arguments or feeling disconnected? Maybe your teen has asked for help. I have worked with teens in various capacities over the last 10 years. I offer therapy for teens facing anxiety, perfectionism, depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, body image concerns, struggles in school, school stress including prepping for college, and relationship/social issues. I find that I am able to connect with teens (even those that say they do not want to try therapy) using humor, a direct approach, and meeting them where they are at to make them feel seen, heard, and understood. We will work together to build coping skills, problem solving skills, and resiliency. I also believe in working closely with parents in order to support their teens in achieving growth and progress.
Are you a parent or caregiver who is concerned about your child's behavior? Have you noticed that your child is acting out, anxious, tearful, sad, angry, or withdrawn and you are not sure how to help? I have extensive experience working with parents of children of all ages who are acting out, exhibiting anxiety, depression, trauma, problems at school, and problems with their social functioning. I am here to help you learn new ways to navigate their world, help them identify and verbalize their needs and feelings, and build coping skills. I believe in working closely with parents and caregivers because you are such a big part of your child's world, and you are an expert on your child! Kids do not have the same level of insight or ability to verbalize their needs and feelings as adults do, and therefore they tend to act these out, sometimes in very indirect or confusing ways to a parent. In our work, I will help you look underneath your child's behavior and understand your child's underlying needs and feelings. I will also teach you ways to relate and respond to your child in a way that creates more harmony in all of your lives.
"Where we look affects how we feel." - David Grand, founder of Brainspotting
Brainspotting (BSP) is a treatment that can be used to help with trauma, anxiety, depression, relational problems, somatic complaints, grief and loss etc. in people of all ages. It works by locating points in your visual field to help your brain and body process and release what has been stuck and affecting how you function and feel. Brainspotting therapy can address a variety of concerns as well as help you expand areas you are seeking to grow in. Brainspotting gives the therapist access to both the brain and body. The goal is to bypass the conscious thinking processes of the brain to get to the deeper more emotional and body-based parts to help you heal. I am a Brainspotting level 1 trained therapist. If you have any questions or concerns about how Brainspotting works and how I utilize it in sessions feel free to reach out!
